Barricaded suspect inside San Antonio home surrenders after nearly 7-hour standoff with police, SAPD says

Officers were communicating with the suspect over the phone and say he will be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

SAN ANTONIO — After a nearly seven-hour standoff with the San Antonio Police Department, the suspect who barricaded himself inside of a northwest-side home has surrendered himself to officers.

Around 3 p.m., officers responded the the 2500 block of Cincinnati Avenue after receiving reports of a disturbance involving a weapon.

Preliminary information from SAPD suggests two people were in an altercation inside of the residence when a witness called police.

SAPD said the victim was removed from the residence but the suspect remained inside the home for almost the next seven hours.

Once the suspect was removed from the residence, officials said he will be charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

SAPD says charges could be upgraded once the investigation is complete.
