Battle of Flowers Parade organizers issue scam warning ahead of ticket sales

Officials announced tickets for the 134th Battle of Flowers Parade will go on sale Wednesday, March 12 beginning at 10 a.m.

SAN ANTONIO — As San Antonio gears up for Fiesta, organizers are warning of scammers ready to prey on the wallets of parade-goers.

Officials announced tickets for the 134th Battle of Flowers Parade will go on sale Wednesday, March 12 beginning at 10 a.m.

The founding Fiesta event attracts more than 350,000 spectators from around the nation each year. It is the second oldest parade in the nation and the largest run entirely by women volunteers, according to the event’s website.

This year’s Battle of Flowers Parade theme is “Melodies In Bloom – A Texas Serenade,” bringing Texas sights and sounds to the downtown streets of San Antonio on Friday, May 2, 2025.

The Josh Abbott Band will serve as Grand Marshal of parade, leading a lineup of marching bands, beautiful floats, balloons, vintage cars, horseback cavalcades and San Antonio’s Fiesta royalty.

But with growing anticipation for the Alamo City’s biggest party of the year, organizers are warning of potential scams.

Officials say scammers are set up online to take ticket orders for “reserved bleacher seating that does not exist.”

Ticket buyers are urged to be cautious of these party pirates offering locations to purchase premium tickets where there are no bleacher sections on Broadway or in Maverick Park. Organizers say the parade route has not gone past those locations in several years.

The official parade route will start on E Locust Street and N Main Avenue – and finish at W Martin Street and N Santa Rosa Street.

Parade-goers will only find legitimate tickets for sale at the official website of the Battle of Flowers.

The Fiesta fun officially kicks off Thursday, April 24 and ends Sunday, May 4. For the full Fiesta events calendar, visit the official website here.
