BBQ pit sparks fire at home on far west side, officials say

The fire was quickly knocked down, and officials say the damage was limited to the exterior siding of the home.

SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters responded to a house fire late Monday night on the far west side of San Antonio.

The fire was reported around 9:44 p.m. in the 9000 block of Mimosa Manor, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.

Fire officials say crews arrived to find a working fire on the backside of a two-story home. Everyone inside the house was already out when firefighters arrived.

The fire was quickly knocked down, and officials say the damage was limited to the exterior siding of the home.

Investigators determined the fire was caused by a BBQ pit being used in the backyard.

No injuries were reported.
