SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office have arrested two suspects accused of possessing tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of various drugs among other items at an east-side residence.
BCSO’s organized crime unit has been working a case for a few weeks at a home in the 200 block of Nelson Avenue. The undercover operation eventually led to a search warrant being executed.
Sheriff Javier Salazar said that BCSO came to the location Tuesday with a heavy presence expecting weapons and possibly some resistance from the suspects. However, once surveillance saw the two suspects leave the residence, officials were able to initiate a traffic stop at a different location, detaining the two suspects.
The SWAT team were then able to enter the home without much resistance.
In the home, BCSO says they found a half pound of cocaine in brick form, several ounces of crack cocaine — which BCSO says is rare for them to find nowadays– a little over a pound of meth, several pounds of high-grade marijuana and some THC vape cartridges. BCSO says the street value of the drugs total tens of thousands of dollars.
They also obtained several weapons as well as a high-end in value pickup truck BCSO says was stolen.
Two suspects have been put under arrest and likely face federal charges. One of the suspects has a lengthy criminal history, including about 19 separate charges going back several years. Sheriff Salazar wasn’t sure of the criminal history of the second suspect.
Sheriff Salazar says the home did not have any furniture in it, and it was likely just used for drugs.
