BCSO arrests man accused of sexual assault of a child, online solicitation

Bexar County deputies arrested 25-year-old Mario Yturarte on charges of sexual assault of a child and online solicitation of a minor.

SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 25-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting a child and soliciting a minor online.

Deputies said Mario Yturarte, 25, was taken into custody on Feb. 4, 2026, after two arrest warrants were issued and executed for charges of sexual assault of a child and online solicitation of a minor.

The investigation began months earlier when the sheriff’s office responded to a report involving a child victim. Authorities said the victim’s parents discovered sexually explicit messages on the child’s personal electronic devices.

According to deputies, the victim reported first meeting the suspect, known only as “Mario,” about two years ago at a local skating rink and later followed him on Instagram because of his skating skills.

Investigators said communication between the two began in 2025, and the victim alleged they met on two occasions and engaged in sexual acts. The victim also told authorities the suspect was aware of the child’s age and frequently pressured the juvenile to meet.

Yturarte was arrested by the BCSO STOP Unit and booked into the Bexar County Jail. His bond has been set at $100,000.

The case remains under investigation.
