BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A narcotics investigation led to a large drug and weapons seizure after a suspect fled from deputies and crashed his vehicle on the west side, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies executed a search warrant in the 5600 block of Butch Canyon on Dec. 12, 2025, as part of an ongoing investigation. During the operation, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Mikal Mireles near U.S. Highway 90 and Hunt Lane.
Investigators said Mireles refused to stop, leading deputies on a pursuit that ended at State Highway 151 and Hunt Lane, where he failed to yield and crashed into another vehicle. Mireles then tried to run but was taken into custody without further incident.
Deputies recovered about eight ounces of methamphetamine from Mireles’ vehicle. A search of his home later uncovered an additional 32 ounces — bringing the total seized to about 40 ounces — along with 17 firearms. Four of the guns were confirmed stolen, and investigators also recovered ghost guns, Glock switches, a rifle suppressor, digital scales and narcotics packaging materials.
Mireles was booked into the Bexar County Jail on charges of evading arrest or detention in a motor vehicle and manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance over 200 grams. Additional firearm-related charges are pending.
