Ornelas shot 34-year-old Joshua Garcia on Saturday, June 21.

Investigators say Garcia was driving a stolen car attempting to get away when he was shot.

Video from a home captured the moment deputy Ornelas opened fire on the car several times.

The sheriff’s office reports Garcia was driving toward Ornelas, which is why the deputy opened fire.
