
At about 8:40 a.m. Monday, 38-year-old Dimitri Sandoval Lira was found unresponsive in his bunk by the unit officer.
SAN ANTONIO — An inmate was pronounced dead at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center Monday morning following a medical episode, officials say.
At about 8:40 a.m. 38-year-old Dimitri Sandoval Lira was found unresponsive in his bunk by the unit officer.
The deputy tried life-saving measures until medical staff arrived and administered Narcan, which did not work.
Lira was pronounced dead at 8:58 a.m.
Officials say that it appeared Lira “suffered a medical episode that may have been compounded by preexisting conditions.” His cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner’s office.
