BCSO: Investigation reveals missing woman found dead in March died by suicide

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said the death of 28-year-old Mariadelis Labrador has been officially ruled a suicide.

SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County’s Sheriff’s Office said the death of a missing woman whose body was discovered in March, has been ruled a suicide.

Mariadelis Labrador, 28, was last seen alive on the morning of March 10. That same week, her body was discovered in the woods near the Wild Horse subdivision on the northwest side.

At the time of the discovery, BCSO said there were signs of trauma on the woman’s body but added that it was too early to know definitively if they were self-inflicted or the result of a homicide.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office listed the woman’s cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.

On Monday, BCSO said an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death revealed Labrador died by suicide.

“We thank the community for their cooperation in providing statements and footage that supported the investigation. We also extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Mariadelis Labrador during this difficult time,” said BCSO.
