SAN ANTONIO — A Bexar County man is in jail after allegedly meeting up with and sexually assaulting a teen he met online.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said 30-year-old Nathan John Gonzales was taken into custody late Monday night after deputies responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle parked at a west-side park.
Upon arrival, BCSO said deputies observed Gonzales exiting the rear passenger side of the vehicle. He was wearing shorts but his underwear had fallen to the ground.
BCSO said Gonzales re-entered his vehicle and drove off, disregarding two stop signs before deputies made a traffic stop on the 11200 block of Vollmer Lane. Gonzales told deputies that he did not know the juvenile victim with him was 15-years-old, according to officials.
Gonzales was detained and deputies said he later admitted to meeting the victim through Snapchat and Instagram and acknowledged communicating with the victim over an extended period. BCSO said Gonzales also admitted to arranging the meeting through online communication leading up to the disturbing assault.
Gonzales was booked into the Bexar County Jail on charges of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child and is currently being held on a $125,000 bond.
