BCSO: Man arrested after alleged sexual assault of teen he admitted to meeting online

Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said 30-year-old Nathan Gonzales was arrested and charged with the continuous sexual abuse of a child.

SAN ANTONIO — A Bexar County man is in jail after allegedly meeting up with and sexually assaulting a teen he met online.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said 30-year-old Nathan John Gonzales was taken into custody late Monday night after deputies responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle parked at a west-side park.

Upon arrival, BCSO said deputies observed Gonzales exiting the rear passenger side of the vehicle. He was wearing shorts but his underwear had fallen to the ground.

BCSO said Gonzales re-entered his vehicle and drove off, disregarding two stop signs before deputies made a traffic stop on the 11200 block of Vollmer Lane. Gonzales told deputies that he did not know the juvenile victim with him was 15-years-old, according to officials.

Gonzales was detained and deputies said he later admitted to meeting the victim through Snapchat and Instagram and acknowledged communicating with the victim over an extended period. BCSO said Gonzales also admitted to arranging the meeting through online communication leading up to the disturbing assault.

Gonzales was booked into the Bexar County Jail on charges of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child and is currently being held on a $125,000 bond.

Sexual assault

On Monday, June 16th, at 11:58 PM, deputies were alerted to a suspicious vehicle parked in a park located in west Bexar County. Upon arrival, deputies observed the driver exiting the rear passenger side of the vehicle, which raised suspicion. The individual was wearing shorts, but his underwear had fallen to the ground. He then re-entered the vehicle and drove away.Deputies observed the driver disregard two stop signs without stopping and initiated a traffic stop in the 11200 block of Vollmer Lane. After approaching the vehicle and explaining the reason for the stop, deputies questioned the driver about his presence in the park. The driver stated that he did not know the juvenile victim with him was 15 years old. The driver was detained and identified as 30-year-old Nathan John Gonzales. Deputies transported Gonzales to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, where he admitted to meeting the victim through Snapchat and Instagram and acknowledged communicating with the victim over an extended period. Gonzales further admitted to arranging the meeting through online communication, which led to the disturbing assault.Nathan John Gonzales was subsequently booked into the Bexar County Jail on charges of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child. He is currently being held on a $125,000 bond.
