BCSO: Man shot in head by his wife while he was sleeping

The wife is in custody and is now facing charges for his murder.

SAN ANTONIO — A man has died after his wife shot him on the northwest side of San Antonio early Thursday morning, according to Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened at the 8400 block of Pico de Aquila around 3:55 a.m.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar says the couple who live at that home were in the process of ending their marriage. Sheriff Salazar says the wife, Veronica Crowe shot her husband in the head while he was sleeping. Damian Crowe, 49, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The case is actually very clear cut, it’s simple for us,” said Sheriff Salazar. “At a certain point, all marriages are going to hit a rough spot, but it absolutely did not have to end this way. It’s the destruction of an entire family.”

The wife is in custody and will be charged with her husband’s murder.
