BCSO searching for man wanted in connection to the tampering of a corpse

Charles Vandoil Byrd, 49, is described as 5’5″ tall, weighs about 208 pounds, and has blonde hair and blue eyes.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is asking your help finding a suspect wanted for Tampering With Evidence With Intent to Impair a Human Corpse. 

Charles Vandoil Byrd, 49, is described as 5’5″ tall, weighs about 208 pounds, and has blonde hair and blue eyes.

BCSO says deputies were dispatched to a home in the 22100 block of Pleasanton Road in far south Bexar County after a caller reported that Byrd said he had killed his wife.

When deputies arrived, they found a decomposed body wrapped in plastic in Byrd’s residence on the property.

BCSO says that Charles Byrd is currently considered a person of interest in this case. He was last seen on Saturday driving a 2025 black Dodge Ram pickup truck with Texas license plate WLW-2027 and may be armed and dangerous.
