BCSO searching for two men caught on camera stealing someone’s work truck

Deputies say the pair of suspects crawled under the truck to possibly turn the horn off before stealing it.

SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office needs your help identifying two suspects caught on camera stealing a work truck on the far north side Sunday.

Surveillance footage captured a small SUV—believed to be a Mercedes—pulling in front of the victim’s residence on Veining Way around 2 a.m. The passenger, who was wearing a hoodie, jumped out of the vehicle and stayed at the location for approximately 18 minutes before driving off in the victim’s silver 2022 Ram 1500. BCSO says the vehicle had high-value work equipment worth several thousand dollars inside.

The video shows the suspect crawling underneath the vehicle, possibly to disable the horn right before the theft. Due to the video’s quality and lighting, no license plate or additional suspect descriptors could be obtained. The suspects left a screwdriver behind that is being processed as evidence.

Officials are now asking for people who live in the area that may have captured the suspects on surveillance footage, to contact BCSO in efforts to help identify those responsible for this theft. If you saw any suspicious activity between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on June 15, contact BCSO by calling (210) 335-6000 or email BCSOTIPS@bexar.org.

If you have information regarding the identity of these suspects, contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office or call crime stoppers at (210) 224-STOP for a potential reward of up to $5,000, for information which leads to the identity and arrest for those responsible.
