Bexar County deputies seized drugs, cash and several firearms during a narcotics investigation at a home on Westlyn Drive that led to four arrests.

SAN ANTONIO — A narcotics investigation in west Bexar County led to the seizure of large amounts of drugs, cash and firearms, and the arrest of four people, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said the investigation began March 5 at a home in the 7400 block of Westlyn Drive.

During the investigation, deputies stopped a vehicle leaving the residence for a traffic violation. Authorities said the passenger tried to run away but was quickly taken into custody.

Investigators recovered about 116 grams of crystal methamphetamine from the passenger. A search of the vehicle also uncovered another 48 grams of meth and a firearm.

Based on information gathered during the stop, deputies obtained a search warrant for the home.

When deputies arrived to carry out the warrant, officials said one suspect tried to run out the back of the house and hide under a neighbor’s shed, but deputies located and arrested him.

A search of the home led to the seizure of about 2.4 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, along with smaller amounts of cocaine, heroin and marijuana. Deputies also found $13,982 in cash believed to be drug proceeds, digital scales, packaging materials and multiple firearms.

Authorities arrested four people in connection with the investigation: Edward Cano, Brian Cano, Felipe Garcia and Santiago Barrientes.

Edward Cano faces multiple charges, including manufacturing and delivery of controlled substances, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a prohibited weapon and evading arrest. The other suspects face various drug-related and other charges.
