BCSO: Teen driving stolen car crashed and rolled over after deputies terminated their pursuit

Deputies had just stopped following the teen driver due to the weather after the stolen vehicle was spotted on the northeast side, BCSO says.

SAN ANTONIO — A teenage girl crashed and flipped the stolen car she was driving on the northeast side just a few minutes after deputies had stopped following her, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

It happened just after 11 a.m. on Rittiman Road at I-35.

Deputies had been following the teen driver after the stolen vehicle was spotted on the northeast side and tried to pull her over. Because of the inclement weather conditions, the deputy decided to stop the pursuit.

“Less than a minute after terminating the pursuit, the deputy observed the vehicle flip, crashing into the gas station parking lot,” according to Johnny Garcia, Public Information Officer with BCSO.

The 17-year-old female driver was detained by deputies.

The investigation ongoing and charges are expected to be filed for evading arrest in a motor vehicle.
