BCSO: Two arrested after authorities find meth and fentanyl stash at downtown SA hotel

A man and and woman are in custody following the huge drug bust at a downtown San Antonio hotel.

SAN ANTONIO — A man and a woman were arrested after the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office made a big drug bust at a downtown hotel, authorities said.

Tomas Hernandez Jr., 22, and 38-year-old Yolanda Ramos Ponce, 38, are in custody and face drug charges. Sheriff Javier Salazar said the Texas Department of Public Safety got a tip Wednesday night about drug trafficking taking place at a hotel on East Houston Street.

Authorities said a warrant was quickly served and deputies found 10 kilos of meth mixed with fentanyl in one of the rooms. BCSO estimates the seized drugs carried a street value of $500,000 to $800,000.

Salazar said he believes the suspects were being used to transport the drugs.
