BCSO: Two bodies found in northeast Bexar County home

Sheriff Salazar is expected to provide more details Tuesday night.

SAN ANTONIO — A violent day of shootings in Texas’ capital city may have started with a double-murder in the San Antonio area.

Bexar County authorities say they believe a man arrested in Austin on Tuesday also killed two middle-aged people whose bodies were found “wedged inside a very small room” in a home near Old Seguin and Walzem roads. Sheriff Javier Salazar described the scene as a “grisly” one, saying that while Austin authorities believe their suspect “had links” to the home, it’s still unclear what his relationship to the victims are.

They’re believed to be a man and a woman. Salazar said they were found shortly after deputies arrived to the 6000 block of Port Royal around 7:45 p.m. and decided to force their way in.

“They’re obviously deceased,” he said. “We just don’t know the cause of death at this point.”

The sheriff said Austin authorities have given the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) only limited information about what happened there on Tuesday, but said it’s believed the Bexar County victims were killed before the suspect headed north.

According to Salazar, neighbors described the family as quiet and living in a “very well-maintained” home.

“Nobody deserves to die the way we believe that they died,” he said.

Austin police officials told our sister station KVUE that they’re investigating a series of Tuesday shootings which may be connected.

It began when an Austin ISD police officer was shot in an “unprovoked way” outside a campus on the northeast side. Later, a man and a woman were found dead on the south side, and an Austin Police Department officer was also injured in a shooting.

This is a developing story. Check back with KENS5.com for updates.
