SAN ANTONIO — Two men were arrested over the weekend for what deputies say was an illegal “speakeasy” on the northeast side of San Antonio.
It happened early Saturday morning after Bexar County deputies showed up for a noise disturbance.
Deputies say they went to the Leaf Hookah Lounge and discovered that alcohol and tobacco were being sold without a license or permit.
The Leaf Hookah Lounge is on the 6200 block of Binz Engleman Road.
Deputies also saw that the lounge was also over capacity and didn’t have a valid certificate of occupancy.
Deputies took the owner, Emmanuel Kenah, 39, into custody.
They also arrested 50-year-old Bobby Britton, who they say was impersonating a security guard.
The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office told the fire marshal to investigate this business.
Both Kenah and Britton are out of jail on bond.
