BCSO: Woman riding motorcycle dies in collision with 18-wheeler in Von Ormy

Investigators said no criminal charges are pending.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman died Tuesday evening in a “major accident” after an 18-wheeler and motorcycle collided along the Interstate 35 frontage road in Von Ormy. 

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash in the 14400 block of the I-35 South access road.

Deputies later said a 45-year-old woman driving the motorcycle was found unresponsive. EMS tried to revive her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. 

According to BCSO, a young female was a passenger on the motorcycle and sustained a severe open fracture to her right arm. A tourniquet was applied before she was taken to a local hospital; she is expected to be OK. 

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured. 

The I-35 frontage road was shut down for several hours causing traffic delays. Investigators said no criminal charges are pending.
