The woman’s body was initially spotted by a teen on a school bus.
SAN ANTONIO — A woman’s body was discovered along Highway 90 in west Bexar County on Wednesday morning, authorities say.
According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, a high school student was traveling on a school bus and saw what appeared to be a body on the side of the road along Highway 90 and FM 211 just before 9 a.m.
Authorities said the student called her mother and told her mom she saw a body on the side of the road. The mother went to the location and confirmed there was someone on the side of the road. The mother then called the authorities.
Sherriff Javier Salazar said the woman is between 30 to 40 years old with black hair in pigtails. He said she was wearing athletic-type clothes, including black yoga pants with shorts on top, a tank top with a light blue paisley pattern. She also has a black floral tattoo on her left arm.
The body shows signs of trauma and early stages of decomposition, Salazar said. Authorities believe she may have been in the area for approximately one to two days.
Salazar said it is possible she was a pedestrian who was hit by a car, but the body was found farther away from the road and could have been dumped in the area.
Salazar commended the student and the mother for going above and beyond to help deputies locate the woman.
