Nicole Adele Gaffney walked out of the Bell County Jail on June 13 after posing as another inmate.

BELL COUNTY, Texas — Law enforcement is searching for Nicole Adele Gaffney, who they say walked out of the Bell County Jail on Friday after being mistakenly released.

Bell County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) said Gaffney was last seen wearing a black tank top, blue denim jeans and black and white Nike high top shoes. Gaffney is white and has blonde hair and blue eyes. She is 5’2″ in height and weighs 130 pounds.

Gaffney was last seen on video on foot, walking towards Loop 121 near the Bell County Justice Complex.

Gaffney had been brought into the Bell County Jail at 11:15 a.m. after being arraigned by District Judge Wade Faulkner on the charge of hindering apprehension or prosecution. Her bond was set at $5,000. BCSO stated she misrepresented herself as an inmate who was about to be released.

BCSO was notified of the situation around 1:10 p.m., and alerted other law enforcement agencies including Belton, Temple, and Killeen Police Departments, Texas Highway Patrol, Texas Rangers and the United States Marshal Service.

According to BCSO, Gaffney does not have a violent background. Anyone with information about her location is encouraged to contact the Bell County Sheriff’s Office at 254-933-5412 or their local law enforcement agency.
