Bexar County authorities searching for missing 14-year-old last seen on far west side last weekend

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says 14-year-old Derek Garcia was reported missing after leaving his home on May 23 and not returning.

SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a missing 14-year-old boy who was last seen on the far west side.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, Derek Garcia was reported missing after leaving his home on May 23 and not returning.

Deputies said Derek was last seen around noon to 12:30 p.m. in the 6000 block of Kimble Mill. He was wearing a black Nike hoodie, black shorts and black Nike Air Force shoes.

Investigators described Derek as 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

According to BCSO, Derek may have taken an older disconnected cellphone that only works while connected to Wi-Fi.
