SAN ANTONIO – A man has been indicted on multiple charges in a child sexual assault case involving solicitation of a minor and indecency with a child, according to a press release.
On Monday, 45-year-old Mason David Caldwell was indicted by a Bexar County grand jury on five counts of sexual assault of a child, one count of Indecency with a child by contact, and 13 counts of online solicitation of a minor.
Local authorities started investigating Caldwell after a witness reported seeing inappropriate text messages on his phone.
Officials say they had also received a tip on the cyber tipline for missing and exploited children.
Bexar County Criminal District Attorney Joe Gonzales issued a statement in the case.
“Public safety, including and especially the safety of children, has always been at the top of my list,” said Gonzales.
