Bexar County hosting food distribution event at Freeman Coliseum

SAN ANTONIO — The government shutdown is now the longest in history and while it continues, people are still not getting their SNAP benefits.

Officials say around 300,000 people in the San Antonio area use those SNAP benefits.

The San Antonio Food Bank has been helping bridge the gap and Wednesday morning they’re hosting another distribution in collaboration with Bexar County.

500 families who have registered, will be receiving food Wednesday morning at Freeman Coliseum.
