SAN ANTONIO — A drug bust in the Bexar County Jail sparked an investigation that ended in the arrests of eight people and the firing of three Bexar County sheriff’s deputies.
BCSO said the organized crime investigation stemmed from a large drug seizure back in April.
Sheriff Javier Salazar said four of the suspects are outsiders who were looking to smuggle drugs in the jail.

The other four suspects are current inmates.

Three deputies were also terminated for their alleged involvement but officials say said they are not facing charges at this time.
