SAN ANTONIO — A man who officials say had a lengthy criminal history was sentenced by a Bexar County judge to serve 12 years in prison, according to the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office.
Judge Benjamin Robertson of the 226th District Court sentenced Cody Morrow for possession of a controlled substance.
The DA’s office said Morrow was found unresponsive in his vehicle by local law enforcement in May of 2022, which triggered an immediate medical response. EMS arrived on the scene and administered three doses of Narcan which successfully revived him.
This triggered an investigation which revealed more than 200 fentanyl pills, counterfeit money, and measuring scales inside his vehicle. Morrow opted for a bench trial, which allowed a judge to decide the outcome and sentencing instead of a jury.
“A habitual offender with a long criminal history is no longer free to harm others, and we are grateful to our team and law enforcement partners for their persistence and commitment in bringing him to justice,” Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales said.
The DA’s office says Morrow also had a lengthy criminal history with more than 60 criminal charges in seven different states, including aggravated assault, criminal trespass, online solicitation of a minor, manufacture and delivery, and thievery.
