Bexar County seeks help identifying ‘porch pirate’ in Wildhorse area thefts

Authorities seek public assistance to identify a suspect in a series of package thefts in the Wildhorse area, urging vigilance as holiday deliveries rise.

SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect seen stealing packages from front porches in the Wildhorse area on the west side of town.

Deputies say the same suspect and vehicle were spotted on two different days taking packages in the Wildhorse subdivision, including near the 1000 block of Stagecoach Bay. According to BCSO, the vehicle involved is displaying false license plates, making it more difficult to track.

The Sheriff’s Office shared images of the suspect vehicle and is urging anyone with information to call BCSO dispatch at (210) 335-6000 or email BCSOTIPS@BEXAR.ORG. You can remain anonymous.

Authorities say this time of year—when holiday deliveries increase—residents should be especially vigilant about package thefts, often referred to as “porch piracy.” BCSO recommends planning ahead to ensure someone is home for deliveries or arranging for packages to be received legally by a neighbor or secure drop-off location.

This remains an active investigation.
