SAN ANTONIO — A deputy with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has been terminated following an arrest for a family violence charge, officials say.
Andres Alvarado Garcia, 24, has been charged from an incident that happened on Tuesday, Feb. 18 around 6:45 p.m. at a home in the 100 block of Hartford Avenue on the southeast side of town.
Officials with BCSO say the incident began as a disagreement between Garcia and the victim over a cell phone. During the argument, Garcia allegedly grabbed the victim’s fingers, causing injury and swelling, which was observed during the investigation. The victim tried to leave with their child, but Garcia allegedly blocked her exit and then grabbed her. She eventually was able to leave.

During the investigation, SAPD determined that warrants would be obtained for charges of Unlawful Restraint and Assault Bodily Injury.
Following the arrest, Garcia was terminated from the agency as a probationary dismissal, due to not having completed a full year of employment with the BCSO. He was hired by BCSO on May 20, 2024.
