SAN ANTONIO — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of one of its own.
Telecommunicator Samantha Woodward, 38, died on May 4, 2026, after suffering a medical episode, according to the sheriff’s office.
Woodward joined the department in August 2022 and was known for her dedication and commitment to serving the community behind the scenes.
In a statement, officials said they are “deeply proud of her passion and honor to serve.”
Telecommunicators play a critical role in public safety, often serving as the first point of contact during emergencies.
The sheriff’s office says its thoughts and prayers are with Woodward’s family during this difficult time.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
