Bexar County Sheriff’s Office searching for man who cut off ankle monitor

Officials say he is connected to several violent crimes, some against his own family.

SAN ANTONIO — An urgent search is on for a wanted man who cut off his ankle monitor.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says he is connected to several violent crimes, some against his own family members.

BCSO did not say exactly where he ran from, but they did share he could be using a fake name to get around and stay away from deputies.

35-year-old Richard Lopez is wanted on a number of charges, in fact close to ten.

The charges include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault bodily injury to a family member, attempted sexual assault, and more.

It’s unclear why he was currently being monitored but deputies say he removed his ankle bracelet before taking off.

They also believe the suspect might be using various alias’ but did not say what they could be.
