Bexar County Sheriff’s Office seeks man with warrants for aggravated assault

Officials urge the public to approach with extreme caution and notify the BCSO Violent Crimes Unit if you encounter Efren Nicolas Vitela-Diaz.

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man with multiple arrest warrants, including one for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the department announced Monday evening. 

According to BCSO, Efren Nicolas Vitela-Diaz is wanted in connection to an ongoing investigation after a Saturday night incident where deputies say an aggravated assault occurred near the 28000 blk of Nyack Pass in San Antonio. 

Authorities said Vitela-Diaz fled the scene before law enforcement arrived and was last seen driving a 2001 Ford F-150 (TX-JXC6190). The truck has some identifying markers, including a faded hood and dent on front left quarter panel. 

He is described as being 5-foot-6 with brown eyes, black hair and weighs about 180 pounds. BCSO officials urge the public to approach with extreme caution and notify the BCSO Violent Crimes Unit if you encounter Vitela-Diaz. Authorities said he currently has active arrest warrants for aggravated assault with deadly weapon.
