A 33-year-old man seen leaving the crash site by witnesses was later apprehended by sheriff’s deputies.
SAN ANTONIO — Two people in a far southeast-side home were injured when a Dodge Ram truck came barreling in Sunday evening, Bexar County authorities say, including a woman hospitalized in critical condition after sheriff’s deputies found her beneath the vehicle.
According to a Facebook post from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), authorities responded to the home in the 10700 block of Terrace Ridge at around 6:12 p.m. and found that the truck crashed into the back of the residence before stopping in the living room. It also had a trailer attached to it.

Authorities eventually arrested 33-year-old Darwin Arita Castellanos, who allegedly fled the scene of the crash but was seen and photographed by witnesses. According to jail records, “Arita” is an alias for his real name: Darwin Edgardo Castellanos.
“Deputies immediately detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath,” BCSO said, adding he later “admitted to driving the vehicle involved in the crash and confirmed that he had been drinking.”
Authorities continued to investigate and found Castellanos allegedly had “swerved through the community, hitting multiple structures” before crashing into the Terrace Ridge home.
Castellanos now faces charges of intoxication assault with a vehicle resulting in serious injury as well as illegal entry, according to online jail records. He’s jailed in Bexar County on a $125,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 7.
