Six months after a thrilling Christmas Day halftime show at NRG Stadium, Beyoncé is riding back into town this weekend with her Cowboy Carter tour.
HOUSTON — Houstonians know how to rock a Western look, and a lot of us already own cowboy boots and hats. But when the most celebrated hometown star on the planet brings her Cowboy Carter tour to H-Town, it’s time for the Bey Hive to up their game.
KHOU 11 anchor Ron Treviño ran into some Beyoncé fans shopping for just the right fit today at Pinto Ranch, known for its timeless, upscale Western wear.
For the Houston stores, the crowds this week are like Christmas in June.
“Oh my gosh, people are so excited about Beyoncé, and for Pinto Ranch, it’s a very exciting time for us,” manager Megan Elizabeth Strickland told us.
“How am I doin’, partner?”
“Doin’ great.”
Carmen Addison and her boyfriend, Brandon Anderson, were shopping for their outfits for Saturday’s concerts.
“How excited are you?” Ron asked.
“Beyoncé! On a scale of one to 10, a thousand!” Carmen said.
“But the pressure is on to wear the right thing.”
“Honestly, I hope to make it on some shade room or something like that, so I have the best outfit, that’s why I’m here.”
Brandon isn’t slacking either. Even though he’s already forked out a lot of cash for concert tickets, he’s tapping into his wardrobe budget for the perfect look.
“I was thinking of going for the boots, jeans, some kinda fringe t-shirt with a black cowboy hat, black felt, strong cowboy look,” Brandon said.
He also gave Ron a couple of tips.
“Well, I think you should wear some cowboy boots, maybe some light colored jeans, white t-shirt, and a hat … classic cowboy look,” Brandon suggested.
Ron: “I don’t have the muscles for a t-shirt.”
Brandon: “Get a smaller t-shirt.”
Ron: “No t-shirt for me.”
That’s probably a good call, Ron.
He did try on some Western duds with, um, let’s just say fringe benefits.
