A bicycle rider died after being struck by a vehicle Friday morning in San Antonio.
SAN ANTONIO — A bicycle rider has died after being hit by a vehicle on the east side of San Antonio Friday morning.
Emergency crews were called out to Rigsby Avenue and Loop 410 around 6:30 a.m. Friday
Joseph Arrington from the San Antonio Fire Department confirmed that the male bicycle rider was hit by a vehicle, possibly a garbage truck, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has not been identified pending notification of next of kin. The accident caused a major traffic backup Friday morning and drivers were urged to use caution if driving in the area.
