SAN ANTONIO — A man is now dead after being hit twice while riding his bike on the west side, according to police.

Officials were called to the 7100 block of Old Highway 90 West at about 6:15 a.m. Friday for a pedestrian hit in the roadway.

The man, yet to be identified but estimated to be in his 40s, was allegedly seen crossing the street on his bike. Police say he was “not going parallel with the lane.”

That’s when police say a vehicle hit the man, fleeing the scene and failing to render aid. Police say the vehicle may be a white Ford F-250.

The man was then hit again by a Hummer, who has been cooperative with the investigation.

EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.

When found, the driver of the truck will be facing hit-and-run charges as police say they failed to stop and render aid.

This is a developing situation and KENS 5 will continue to update this article as we learn more.
