Biden set to visit Brownsville, Trump heads to Eagle Pass

“He wants to make sure he puts his message out there to the American people,” said Karine Jean-Pierre, White House Press Secretary.

SAN ANTONIO — President Joe Biden is expected to arrive in Brownsville, Thursday afternoon. This will be his 2nd trip to the Texas/Mexico border as president. Biden’s last visited the border in January of 2023, when he visited El Paso.

According to the White House Press Secretary, Biden will meet with border agents to discuss the need for bipartisan legislation.

While Biden makes his way to Brownsville, President Donald Trump will head to Eagle Pass for a border trip.

According to the White House Press Secretary, President Biden will meet with border agents to discuss the need for bipartisan legislation.

Biden’s visit comes after a bipartisan immigration bill failed in the U.S. House of Representatives, after Trump came out against it.

The bill would have tightened asylum restrictions, and funded border agents and Homeland Security authorities.

Both visits by President Biden and former President Trump, highlight the growing concern over border issues as the 2024 Presidential Election draws closer.

San Antonio Mayor, Ron Nirenberg, will join Biden in his visit to Brownsville.

KENS 5 will have complete coverage both on-air and on-line from Brownsville and Eagle Pass.
