The 2024 Big 12 Media Days event left AT&T Stadium and was held in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium.
FRISCO, Texas — The Big 12 is back …. in Texas.
After leaving the Lone Star State in 2024 – where the event had been held at AT&T Stadium since 2019 – the Big 12 Conference announced its Media Days would return to Frisco.
The Big 12 Media Days previously held its annual event in Frisco in 2017 and 2018. They moved it to a grander stage of AT&T Stadium, a.ka. Jerry World, from 2019 onward. Then, in 2024, Big 12 Media Days moved to Las Vegas and was held at Allegiant Stadium.
The 2025 Big 12 Media Days will be held on Tuesday, July 8, and Wednesday, July 9 at Ford Center at The Star.
“Texas is the backyard of the Big 12 Conference, and we are looking forward to having our Football Media Days here again,” said Big 12 Chief Football & Competition Officer Scott Draper. “We are grateful for the partnership and continued support from the Dallas Cowboys, and we’re thrilled to host our Media Days at a world-class facility like The Star.”
The Big 12 Conference’s return comes as SEC takes its Media Days back to Atlanta, Ga., after being held at the Omni Hotel in Dallas in 2024.
The Big 12’s partnership with the Dallas Cowboys also includes hosting its championship game at AT&T Stadium, which has been the venue since 2009 (2009-10/2017-2024; there was no Big 12 Championship Game from 2011 to 2016).
College football insider Brett McMurphy reported that the intent moving forward is to rotate the event back-and-forth from the Dallas area to outside the DFW metroplex.
