Big Texas Terror convention draws horror fans to downtown San Antonio for star-studded weekend

A star-studded convention happening downtown this weekend will feature familiar faces from some iconic horror franchises. Here’s what to expect.

SAN ANTONIO — Horror fans from across Texas are expected to pack downtown San Antonio through the weekend as Big Texas Terror kicks off a weekend packed with celebrity guests, panels and fan experiences celebrating the horror genre.

The three-day convention, running March 6-8 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, will bring together legendary horror icons, modern film stars and well-known personalities from television and wrestling, according to organizers.

Among the headlining guests is David Howard Thornton, best known for playing Art the Clown in the Terrifier films. He is expected to appear alongside horror legend Doug Bradley, famous for his role as Pinhead in the Hellraiser franchise, and Linda Blair, the Academy Award–nominated star of The Exorcist.

Pro-wrestling star and entertainer Chris Jericho will also appear as part of the convention lineup after recently joining the Terrifier franchise.

Organizers said the guest list also includes several stars from the Terrifier films, including Lauren LaVera, Samantha Scaffidi, Elliott Fullam and Amelie McLain.

Other guests include Jeremy Davies and Miguel Mora fromThe Black Phone 2, along with Andy Black and Sons of Anarchy actors Kim Coates and Mark Boone Junior.

“Big Texas Terror is built to be the ultimate horror weekend in Texas,” said event organizer John Hernandez. “From classic horror legends to the stars of today’s most talked-about films, fans get a full convention experience all under one roof.”

According to Big Texas Terror organizers, attendees can explore vendor booths filled with horror-themed collectibles, meet celebrities during autograph sessions, take part in professional photo opportunities and attend panels and Q&A sessions with actors and creators. 

Artist Alley will also showcase comic artists and creators, while cosplay and fan activities will add to the convention atmosphere.

Big Texas Terror organizers said the convention draws fans from across Texas and neighboring states, making it one of the region’s largest horror-focused fan events.
