SAN ANTONIO — A woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car while riding her bike, according to police.
Police say the woman was riding her bicycle in the 5100 block of West Commerce Street around 6:40 p.m. Friday night. She then allegedly tried to cross the roadway not using a bike lane or crosswalk, also failing to yield the right of way to approaching traffic, according to police.
This caused a Dodge Journey driving west to hit the woman’s bike, causing serious bodily injuries to the woman. She was taken to the hospital where she remains in critical condition as of Saturday morning. She has not been positively identified.
The driver of the Dodge remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. They aren’t expected to face any criminal charges.
