Blippi’s curious learning style offers big benefits for Texas kids

Blippi’s unique style of entertainment mixed with learning can help reach kids who don’t excel the traditional way.

SAN ANTONIO — If you don’t know who Blippi is, your pre-schooler probably does.

He is one of the most popular live-action preschool characters in the world.

KENS 5 sat down to talk with Blippi about his latest adventures and how his style of learning can help kids who don’t normally perform well in the classroom.

Blippi has more than 100 million fans worldwide and over one billion monthly views across all platforms. With such a large audience the importance of how the character empowers learning through curiosity, fun, and real-world adventure can not be stressed enough.

“I ran into Jordan Fisher, the Broadway musical star in New York, and he taught me about dancing and expressing your emotion through dance,” said Blippi, played by Clayton Grimm, who is talking about one of his many celebrity friends who taught him about New York, traveling, dancing, and expressing emotions in just one video.

Grimm says being curious is a great way for kids to learn.

“The best way I like to be curious is by trying new things. Especially if you’re trying a new food. I would highly recommend it. So sometimes trying a new food can be quite the adventure,” he said.

When comparing Texas to the rest of the U.S. states, U.S. News and World Report ranks Texas 29 in overall education. WalletHub puts Texas as 41 in the country – with only nine states doing better. And the Journal of Consumer Affairs says Texas is ranked 40 out of the 50 states.

Grimm says Blippi’s style of learning is a great benefit to kids in Texas schools that may have a hard time learning the traditional way.

“I think the biggest thing is getting kids excited to learn. So I think if I’m trying to learn about something new that I’m interested in, if I have an interest, if I’m excited to learn, I’m so much more likely to learn,” Grimm said.
