Body discovered floating in San Antonio River downtown

Police are investigating. The victim hasn’t been identified.

SAN ANTONIO — Authorities say a body was pulled from the San Antonio River downtown, a block away from the Bexar County Courthouse and Riverwalk Plaza Hotel. 

The victim hasn’t been identified, but the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) continues to investigate. The discovery was made by “an employee on a river barge” in the 200 block of East Nueva around 9:30 a.m. Park Police could be seen examining the area on a boat. 

Police have classified the incident as an “apparent sudden death,” but an official cause of death is yet to be announced.
