SAN ANTONIO — Police are investigating after an unidentified man’s body was found just north of downtown in Brackenridge Park.
At this point, San Antonio authorities are categorizing the incident as “apparent sudden death” after no visible injuries were found, according to a preliminary SAPD report. The Bexar County medical examiner will the issue the final ruling on a cause of death.
Police officials say the body was found late Friday morning close to the Zoo Train tracks east of Brackenridge Way. A witness who was walking his dog in a wooded area of the park came upon the remains about 40 yards into the woods.
Authorities are still investigating, while officials with the San Antonio Zoo said “train operations are currently paused at the request of the San Antonio Police Department and the San Antonio Park Police.”
