SAN ANTONIO — A man’s body was discovered near Helotes Saturday morning after an area resident found a random shoe leading officials to the dumped body, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred on the 10000 block of Escondido Drive around 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
BCSO Sheriff Salazar said the man could have been murdered and dumped recently as trauma appeared on the man’s upper body. Salazar says there’s evidence to suggest the man was dragged off the roadway and dumped at the location.
The man has a large tattoo on his back but medical examiners are still working to identify him, according to BCSO officials.
BCSO says it’s unclear how long the body had been laying there as officials are still searching for where and when the man was killed before dumped at the area.
Officials are asking the public to call BCSO if you are missing a loved one who matches the description of the man found.
