Body found near south-side San Antonio parking lot, police say

SAPD said the discovery came after officers received a call about a foul odor in the area.

SAN ANTONIO — A man was found dead Saturday morning near an empty parking lot on the city’s south side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.

Officers responded just before 10 a.m. to the 100 block of Fay Avenue after receiving a call about a foul odor in the area, police said.

Upon arrival, police searched the area and discovered an unidentified man lying near the fence line of the parking lot, according to investigators. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s identity and cause of death have not yet been determined.
