
Authorities found Agusto Gutierrez’s car lodged under a bridge in the drainage system.
SAN ANTONIO — Authorities found the body of a missing 18-year-old man, who may have been swept away by heavy rainfall, officials with Eagle Pass Police said Saturday.
Police said Agusto Gutierrez was recovered from the Rio Grande at approximately 8:15 a.m. His body was recovered by a DPS Tactical Marine Unit, two miles south of the main drainage canal that flows into the river. His family was notified of the discovery.
Officials believe Gutierrez may have been swept away by the recent rain while he was driving.
Authorities also found Gutierrez’s car lodged under a bridge in the drainage system.
Drone units were reportedly searching the area to find Gutierrez. DPS Marine Units, military personnel and officers on foot assisted with the search.
Eagle Pass PD posted on Facebook about the recovery and thanked the multiple agencies who helped with the search efforts.
