Body recovered from Lake Lewisville as crews search for man who went underwater, didn’t resurface

Search efforts were suspended Saturday night at Lake Lewisville after a man went underwater and didn’t resurface.

LEWISVILLE, Texas — Multiple agencies are searching Lake Lewisville on Saturday evening for a man who went underwater and did not resurface, according to Texas Game Wardens.

Officials said the Texas Game Wardens in Denton County, along with the Lewisville Fire Department and TowBoat U.S., responded to a possible water fatality around 7:45 p.m.

Authorities said the man was swimming back to a vessel with a woman when he went underwater and did not come back up.

According to the city of Lewisville, the fire department’s dive team is on scene near Pier 121 Marina and has identified a location where divers will focus their search.

After 10 p.m. Saturday night, the city said the search was called off and no recovery had been made. According to the city, crews will resume the search Sunday morning.
