Boerne High School was evacuated after a threat prompted a police response; students are safe and relocated. Both schools received an all-clear by 8:55 a.m.
BOERNE, Texas — Boerne High School was evacuated Wednesday morning due to a bomb threat, Boerne police said. All students and staff were safe, the district said.
A social media post in the morning said, “officers from multiple law enforcement agencies are responding to a threat made at Boerne High School.” As of 8:50 a.m., both schools were given the “all-clear.”
Boerne police said a threatening message was discovered on a phone line indicating there were “several bombs on campus.” At the time the message arrived, students were not on campus yet and the school had not officially opened. The staff members and few students in the area at the time were evacuated while law enforcement searched the property.
An FBI bomb technician and a San Antonio Police Department Bomb Unit swept all buildings. No credible threat was found and the campus was cleared to reopen to all students by 8:45 a.m. Police say additional Boerne police officers will remain on campus Wednesday as a precaution.
This is a developing situation and further details will be added as they are received.
