SAN ANTONIO — A reported bomb threat prompted evacuations and a temporary shutdown along U.S. Highway 281 North Saturday evening before police determined the suspicious item was harmless.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were called around 6:42 p.m. to the 23000 block of U.S. Highway 281 North for a report of a suspicious box.

As a precaution, officers shut down the area and evacuated nearby people while they investigated the package.

During the investigation, police determined the suspicious item was an empty soda box, according to officials.

No injuries were reported.

Police documented the incident and said the situation was cleared without further issues.
