BOERNE, Texas — A Walmart in Boerne was evacuated Saturday afternoon after a bomb threat was reported, according to the Boerne Police Department.
Boerne police said officers were dispatched at about 12:53 p.m. to the Walmart in the 1300 block of South Main Street after the store received a call from an individual claiming a bomb had been placed inside the building.
According to the Boerne Police Department, officers immediately responded and worked with store management to evacuate all customers and employees as a precaution.
Police said a search of the store was conducted with assistance from a San Antonio Police Department canine unit and an FBI bomb technician. After a thorough sweep, authorities determined there was no threat inside the store.
The Boerne Police Department said multiple agencies assisted with the response.
Police thanked residents for avoiding the area during the investigation, allowing emergency crews the space needed to safely respond.
The store has since reopened, according to the Boerne Police Department. The investigation into the bomb threat remains ongoing.
