Boots, tacos and rodeo vibes: Cowboy Breakfast kicks off Rodeo season in San Antonio

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo’s free Cowboy Breakfast returns January 30 with tacos, music, and plenty of Texas flair outside the Frost Bank Center. 🤠

SAN ANTONIO — Dust off your boots and grab a plate, because the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo is once again firing up the griddles for its Official Cowboy Breakfast, officially kicking off Rodeo season in true Texas style.

The free community event rides into town Friday, January 30, from 5 to 10 a.m. outside the Frost Bank Center, where early risers can enjoy FREE breakfast tacos and hot coffee courtesy of Illusions and the RK Group. Parking will also be FREE in select lots around the venue.

Along with full stomachs, guests can expect live music, rodeo merchandise, family-friendly activities, and appearances by the Spurs Hype Squad. If you’re 21 and older, beer and the Rodeo’s exclusive Surtierra Tequila will be available for purchase starting at 7 a.m.

Helping keep the long-standing tradition alive are students and chefs from St. Philip’s College’s Hospitality and Culinary Arts Department, who will help with cooking alongside the rodeo volunteers. As part of the partnership, the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo will make a donation to support the college’s culinary program and the next generation of local hospitality leaders.

Proceeds from the Cowboy Breakfast benefit St. Philip’s College, and the event also marks the official launch of the 2026 Rodeo BBQ Cookoff, which is happening the same weekend, making it the perfect way to start a day full of smoke, spice, and San Antonio tradition.
